Advanced functionality. A calculated filter changes with the user who is signed in, so you do not need a rule per user. Calculated filters are shared with Field Validation through Compliance Essentials. In Field Security you use them in Filter Security.
Set Filter Value Type to Calculated instead of Manual, and select a filter in Calculated Filter. For a worked case see each salesperson sees only their own sales orders.
