Advanced functionality. A table relation tells the app how two tables in Business Central are connected, for example a sales line and its sales header. Table relations are shared with Field Validation through Compliance Essentials.
In a Filter Security of the type Editable you can filter on a table that is related to the secured table. Fill in Table Relation No. on the line. A relation can also give a calculated filter of the kind Related Field its path from the signed-in user to a value, such as the salesperson code.
When you choose Load Default Data on Field Security Setup, a set of table relations based on standard Business Central is added. Use them and study them as examples for your own relations.
T39-T14.The result is a relation that you can select in the Table Relation No. field of a Filter Security line.
A line of a table relation has the type FIELD or CONST. FIELD links a field of the table to a field of the related table. CONST uses a constant instead of a field: enter the field of the related table and the constant value in Filter.
When you enter a table relation, Business Central may ask for a confirmation ("Your change might update related records"). Choose Yes.
